Deer resistant means deer do not favor this particular tree.  They will eat anything if they are hungry enough!

DIANE'S

HELPFUL HINTS:

  • Dig your hole twice as wide as the pot your tree came in.  Do not remove tree from pot until your hole is prepared.
  • Mix in 2 ice cream buckets full of mushroom compost - or 1/2 bag.  Mix well with soil.
  • Thoroughly soak the hole with water.
  • Plant the tree - do not cover the graft of the tree when planting.  Make sure the tree is firmly planted.
  • Apply a 4" layer of mulch.
  • Thoroughly water your tree.  At least 20 gallons. You can put a small sprinkler on for at least a couple of hours.  Give your a tree a thorough soak at least once/week.
  • If you cannot get your tree planted, water the container everyday until you plant it.
